Hello and Happy New Year! I don’t even know how to begin this so I’ll just start from where I left off. It might seem like I abandoned this here blog a long time ago, but I was actually busy finishing what I started.
After my last post, I completed my dietetic internship and my master’s in nutrition, took and passed the examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, moved cross-country from New York to Arizona, started a new job as a clinical dietitian at a hospital in Phoenix, and transitioned to outpatient nutrition counseling in the hospital’s gastroenterology clinic. Oh, and I gave the blog a new name and look!
As previously mentioned, I have been working full-time as a dietitian at a local hospital for a while now and I am so incredibly happy and grateful I took the leap of faith to pursue this passion. I absolutely love when I am able to help a patient feel better and improve their health through lifestyle changes.
Just like any job, though, it’s not perfect. My biggest complaint is that my clinical job includes time & resource constraints that limit by ability to dedicate more time to folks who really want and need guidance, specifically those who have questions as they relate to gut health and exercise, athletics, and their daily lives.
That is why I’m ready to get back to blogging and putting content out there for anyone who wants it. That said, I will focus less on recipes and personal stories and more on science-backed nutrition information and practical tips for integrating healthy eating into your busy, active life. I do still love cooking and developing recipes and I will continue to post recipes when I come up with good ones!
